Целью исследования является выявление причин данного несоответствия и указание способов его устранения. Аналогичное несоответствие было обнаружено ранее зарубежными исследователями, изучающими эффективность школьных программ по статистике. Вскрытые ими закономерности оказалось возможным распространить также на методику преподавания статистики в медицинском вузе. Для этого автор разработал тест учебных достижений, который был проведен среди студентов медико-биологического факультета СибГМУ. Фундаментальная проблема статистического образования состоит в том, что символы этой науки актуализируются лишь при обобщении опыта работы с данными. Эффективное решение этой проблемы обеспечивает онтосемиотический подход к разработке содержания курса.В статье рассматриваются подходы к разрешению данного противоречия, опирающиеся на опыт преподавания статистики в зарубежных школах и на собственные разработки автора. В частности, делается вывод о необходимости пересмотра традиции использования профессиональных статистических пакетов в пользу программных средств учебного назначения.
