Abstract

The electroencephalography (EEG) method has been used to study peculiarities of the bioelectric activity of brain in Khakassia native people (Russian and Khakas of any sex) representing different types of temperament. The Rusalov questionnaire was used. The background EEG was recorded, as well as the EEG with the application of the standard set of trigger samples. The data obtained have shown no general differences between Russians and Khakases in the bioelectric activity of brain. However, the comparison of EEG data with the data of psychological testing revealed some peculiarities. In Khakas men in the left cerebral hemisphere and in women in the both hemispheres, the intensification of the amplitude in the α-region is observed in groups with high-emotional middle-active and low-emotional middle-active types of temperament. This confirms the assumption on the existence of genetically determined peculiarities of the nervous system characteristic of Khakases.

Abstract

Reaction of the skin vessels and tissues after microsurgical replantation of the free axial groin flap (FAGF) under the influence of eplir was investigated. Studying of skins vascular bed on microanatomical preparations was spent by means of a technique of an intravascular injection of Gerots mass and histological preparations. After transplantation FAGF signs of developments of stagnation, augmentation of numerical density of vessels are observed; restoration of vascular communications begins about 14 days. After application of various forms of eplir germination of vessels in surrounding tissues is observed with 7 days, morphological changes of a vascular bed are less expressed. Application of various forms of an extract a silt sulphidic muds essentially improves processes of adaptation and integration of free axial flaps.

Abstract

With the purpose of studying of association of polymorphic variants of genes glutathione S-transferases pi and mu (GSTP1 and GSTM1) with survival rate sick of liver cirrhosis (LC), it is lead uniinstantly research of 189 sick of LC of a virus (HBV, HCV, H V+H V) and an alcoholic etiology. Have been В С compared a frequencies of allocation of polymorphic variants of genes GSTP1 and GSTM1 between the died and persisted patients for the season 4 years. With greater survival rate of sick of LC associated: presence of genotype АА of gene GSTP1 (χ 2 Pearson, р = 0,008) and «null» genotype GSTM1 (χ 2 Pearson, р = 0,027). Chances of development of a lethal outcome at sick of LC with presence of genotypes GG and AG on gene GSTP1 in 2,5 times above, than at patients with genotype АА. Presence of active gene replica GSTM1 enlarges chances of development of a lethal outcome in 2 times. The received results testify to necessity of the count of genetical factors for the forecast of LC.

Abstract

In this study, we investigated the effects of preincubation with the reactive oxygen species-generating system xanthine oxidase/xanthine on Ca2+-dependent potassium permeability of erythrocyte membrane. The increase of intracellular calcium concentration in presence of calcium ionophore A23187 led to erythrocyte membrane hyperpolarization due to opening of Ca2+-activated potassium channels. Erythrocyte membrane potential was recorded via measurement of pH of the incubation medium in presence of prothonophore. Incubation of erythrocytes with xanthine (100 µmol)/ xanthine oxidase (10 mU/ml) mixture resulted in significant loss of amplitude and rate of hyperpolarization response and also loss the rate of membrane potential restoration. These effects can be caused by hydrogen peroxide, one of products of reaction of xanthine oxidase/xanthine.

Abstract

Seventy seven type 2 diabetes patients undergoing medical treatment in day hospital and specialized department have been examined. To assess the life quality, the SF-36 general questionnaire was used. One year later, the life quality of the patients was assessed repeatedly. The data obtained indicate that the life quality of type 2 diabetes patients is decreased in all indices compared to the common population. In hospital patients, the PF, PR, and RE indices were reliably decreased compared to day patients. It was found that the PF and RE indices reliably decrease with the years of disease. It was noticed that the compensation of carbohydrate metabolism influences positively the life quality of type 2 diabetes patients, and the reliable improvement was revealed in the PF index. Type 2 diabetes negatively affects the self-assessment of the life-quality of patients, significantly restricts the everyday physical activity, and weakens the vitality. As the term of the disease increases, such indices as physical activity amd emotional state worsen.

Abstract

The most part of the bone mass is formed between 10 and 14 years. The age of achievement of the peak bone mass in different parts of skeleton varies from 17 to 30 years. Low values of the peak bone mass are a significant risk factor, since the formed bone substance is expended later. Measures aimed at the early diagnostics, revealing of risk groups, and prophylaxis of reduction of the bone strength in children will favor the gain in health of children population and in the life quality in both children and adult people and will provide the economy of material resources.

Abstract

Cysteine cathepsins have been known for a long time to play an important role in cancer progression. Here we summarize their impact to the hallmark processes of malignant growth such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis. We discuss the molecular mechanisms where cysteine cathepsins are participating through the degradation of the extracellular matrix, initiation of the proteolytic cascade by activating serine proteases and urokinase plasminogen precursors. Moreover, in addition to the tumorigenic and pro-metastatic functions of lysosomal cysteine proteases in the cancer cells, cathepsins originating from cells of the tumour microenvironment has been shown to participate in the processes leading to the tumor progression and metastasis. Taken together, that data support the concept of cysteine cathepsins as promising molecular targets for cancer therapy.

Abstract

To study the state of health of students during the in-depth medical examination with the use of prenosological diagnosis techniques, 702 servicemen have been examined by the standard technique using the Apanasenko express assessment of the physical health (1987). All the examined people were divided into three groups: 162 people with the low level of physical health, 258 people with the middle level, and 282 people with the high level. The health group was assigned by the expert resolution of institute therapists. The group with the low level of physical health included 162 servicemen. The low level of physical health is most characteristic of servicemen having chronic diseases (85.7%) and sickly with acute diseases (36%). The fraction of healthy and practically healthy people in the group with the low level of physical health was 19.7 and 29.0%, respectively. The technique of prenosological diagnosis is the most simple and informative method to study somatic health for the following correction.

Abstract

The influence of the chemical composition of water in the Republic of Altai (RA) on medical-demographic indices has been studied. It has been found that the water is poorly mineralized, the fluorine content in it is three times lower than the optimal one, and the pollution of the water with toxicants 3.3—4.6 times exceeds the maximum permissible level. Significant correlation coefficients (р < 0.05) are revealed between the excess over the maximum permissible concentrations of toxicants in the drinking water and infant mortality; total chemical pollution of water and total adult morbidity, optimality index of the drinking water and morbidity with new-onset circulatory diseases, fluorine content in the drinking water and the level of congenital defects, water mineralization and hardness and the oncological mortality level in RA rural regions.

Abstract

The mortality of Tomsk people aged from 15 to 74 from diseases of the blood circulation system have been studied for 1990—2001 and main risk factors have been determined. For the 12-year period, the mortality increased in all the main classes of causes of death. The analysis of differences in male and female mortality from individual causes of death shows that cardiovascular diseases and violent death in the active working age are major contributors to mortality differentiation depending on sex. Four risk factors can be separated: high arterial tension, high cholesterol level, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption. They determine 87.5% in total mortality and 58.5% in the years of life with disability. Prophylaxis of mortality from circulatory diseases should be aimed, first of all, at these groups of factors.

Abstract

The activity of the medical enterprise Medsanchast' No. 3 within the pilot project «Modernization of Health Service in the Tomsk Region» in the form of integration in the obligatory medical insurance (OMI) system has been analyzed. Medsanchast' No. 3 has achieved significant progress in the work on the increase of its fraction if the OMI system. However, in the process of implementation of the pilot project, a critical financial situation took place due to age characteristics of new contingent and, as a consequence, payment for acute hospital aid. To solve this problem, it is necessary to revise the charge for urgent hospitalization and the order of population assignment to medical-prophylactic enterprises, thus creating equal conditions for private clinics, and to tighten control over cases of urgent hospitalization.

Abstract

Starting from 1992, the demographic situation in the Tomsk Region is characterized by a decrease of the population. It is mostly affected by the natural migration of population. The tendency of increase (decrease) in the birth rate is mostly determined by the past period. Thus, from 2000, the stable growth of the birth rate is observed in the Tomsk Region mostly due to the high birth rate in the early 1980s. On the average, the influence of the past period becomes visible in birth-rate indices 23–25 years later.

Abstract

The statistical rates of population health both in Russian Federation and Tomsk Region demonstrate the high morbidity level among the persons from 60 years and older, which are three times and more exceeding the analogous rates of the employers. The predominance of chronic forms of pathologies among the elder age people, which are aggravated by the natural (physiological) aging processes, influence structural and quantitative components of health care system.
