Abstract
The incidence of Opisthorchis felineu s (Rivolta, 1884) and Metorchis bilis (Braun, 1890) infections among people lived in several regions of the Ob-Irtysh River basin in the West Siberia has been assessed. Our results suggest that Metorchis bilis infection was common in many of the serologically tested people. Moreover, this helminth was obtained from the biliary ducts of humans in autopsy.

Abstract
The data obtained have attributes of fundamental investigation with the evidence-based level C. The relations between the breathing perception, dispnoea, respiratory center (RC) functioning and respiratory mechanics have been studied in healthy persons (HP, n = 20), patients with bronchial asthma (BA, n = 30) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, n = 30) at an electrical stimulation of diaphragm (ESD) and subsequent inhalations of the bronchodilator Berodual. Descriptive, comparative, correlative, canonical, cluster, factorial, regressive and informative analysis of the results has been performed. It has been found that ESD and Berodual have the adaptable action on the sensory parts of the central nervous system (SPCNS) and functioning of RC. On the basis of the correlations obtained, structural models of the functional biomechanical systems of the respiratory system (RS) adjusted by RC, in HP, BA patients and COPD patients are proposed. Peculiarities of the models of functioning SPCNS, RC and RS in HP, BA patients and COPD patients have been described qualitatively.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to establish the role of disturbances of structural-functional properties of erythrocyte and platelet membranes in mechanisms of development and progression of vascular complications of type 1 diabetes. The subjects were 92 patients (48 men and 44 women, aged from 18 to 55) affected by type 1 diabetes in different stages of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy. The results have shown the significant structural and functional changes of red blood cells and platelet membranes in type 1 diabetes mellitus. These changes (increase of microviscosity of lipid phase, inhibition of Na+,K+-АТPase activity) correlated with the degree of expression of vascular complications. Since the rheologic properties of blood cells, particularly its microrheologic features, are determined by the membrane status, the detection of changes in the molecular organization of erythrocyte and platelet membranes can be consider as a pathogenic link of diabetic microangiopathies.

Abstract
Experiments have been carried out with two kinds of laboratory animals: 27 rabbits of chinchilla breed with the age of 3—4 months and the weight of the body from 1740 to 2 290 grams (1 993,1 ± 243,2) and 49 white alley male rats with the weight of the body of 180—220 g (195,4 ± 27,3). As an infectious organism, the daily dredge hemolysinogen E. coli with colicinogenic factor Ca 38 was used. Roots of introduction of dredge E. coli were intravenous, transurethral, transcapsular in parenchyma kidneys, enteral and endotracheal (in rats). As the animals were infected through various entrance gates, three variants of acute infections of the uric system were obtained: purulent-destructive defeats, tubular-interstitial infringements and asymptomatic bacteriuria. High virulence of the urostrain E. coli , used in the experiment, is demonstrated. The hypothesis about the universal mechanism of infection of the uric system "from top to down", i.e. hematogenic, has been formulated.

Abstract
The aim was to estimate the epidemiological and pathogenetic correlation between allergic diseases and opisthorchiasis in the population of Tomsk and the Tomsk Region. The program was a cross-sectional epidemiological snap study based on two samples: village inhabitants ( n = 201; mean age 12,1 ± 3,4) and Tomsk inhabitants ( n = 196; mean age 30,16 ± 12,86). The epidemiological, clinical, parasitological, allergological, immunological, and statistical methods were used in the study. It has been found that allergic diseases affected about 40.9% of village patients with opisthorchiasis and 26,1% people without parasites ( р < 0.05). For Tomsk inhabitants, this proportion was 54,5 and 52,6%.

Abstract
The indices of the immune status and homocystein in persons working in the chemical industry are studied. As a result, the laboratory indications of activation of the immune system are revealed, as well as the increased activity of cellular and humoral immunity. Moderate homocysteinemia is found among men aging of 56—65 with an idiopathic hypertensia. Homocystein appears to be an independent risk factor of coronary, cerebral and peripheral vessels diseases.

Abstract
Nitric oxide NO production by blood monocytes was studied in 53 patients with drug-sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and 50 patients with multidrug resistance (MDR) TB before and during the anti-tuberculosis therapy. Levels of NO production were determined using the Griess's reactant. Increased levels of NO secretion were observed before the treatment and after the intensive phase of therapy of drug-sensitive TB. However, it decreased after the full course of the anti-tuberculosis therapy. At the MDR TB the NO production by monocytes was reduced before and after the intensive phase of treatment and increased after the end of the full course of therapy.

Abstract
Optical endoscopy of nasal cavities and general histological and histochemical methods were used to reveal that the anatomically adverse variants of the structure of nasal mouth of ductus nasolacrimalis against a background of the chronic catarrhal inflammation of a mucous membrane of lacrimal passages with abnormality of the mucociliary clearance in patients with pathological lacrimation promote the development of dacryostenoses.

Abstract
In the modern science, the body is an object of interest not only to the natural science and medicine, but also the humanities. Of special interest, in particular, for the medical discourse, is the ethnic body experience. The paper reveals features of the body experience in the east-slavonic culture from the analysis of the mythological tradition. This experience is characterized by the pronounced interest and ambivalent attitude to the body’s life, natural body standards; and emotional intensity. The experience of the social body is of highest priority in the culture.

Abstract
The problem of iodine deficiency has serious consequences for physical, intellectual, and reproductive health of the population. Tomsk falls in the group of mixed ecological regions, in which high anthropogenic pollution of the atmosphere is observed along with the slight iodine deficiency. The results of the analysis of the volume, structure, and functional status of a thyroid gland at 114 children and teenagers and 101 adult patients are presented. The combined examination included clinical inspection, ultrasonic study, and hormonal investigation of the thyroid gland. It was found that the structure of the thyroid gland deteriorates with age and the transformation of the diffuse goiter into the nodular one increases.

Abstract
The new method for the rehabilitation of patients operated on thyroid gland because of the colloidal nodular goiter has been suggested. The method includes the prescription of non-steroid anti-inflammatory nimesulide drug and microwaves during the earlier postoperative period in combination with the hormonal status correction. This rehabilitation method results in sooner wound reparation, shorter period of physical disability, and better life quality of patients comparing to traditional postoperative management.

Abstract
The article discusses the peculiarities of the clinical-laboratory pattern and mechanisms of disfunction of phacytizing blood cells in children aging from 3 to 14 with pseudotuberculesis of medium severity with smooth and recurrent clinical course. It is shown that the clinical manifestations of children pseudotuberculesis, regardless of the age and clinical course, are characterized by syndromes of intoxication, exanthema, affection of the gastrointestinal tract, increased liver. The blood is characterized by the increased ESR, increased numbers of neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils, indices of liver affection. The disturbance of the functional activity of blood phagocytes is caused by the increased absorbing capacity of monocytes and neutrophils, changed content of lysosomes, C3b+and Fcγ+-cells against the background of the decreased fraction of active neutrophils and lysozyme in blood, the degree of whose expression is determined by the patient age and the clinical course of the infection.

Abstract
36 community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) patients were examined with respect to speed indices of ventilatory pulmonary function and bronchial resistance Raw . 19 patients had due values of the above-listed indices. When these indices decreased, 17 patients had Raw value within due limits. Therefore, the obstructive type of ventilation embarrassment in the course of CAP is not an evidence of Raw .

Abstract
The aim of the study was to optimize the technical conditions of the selective proximal vagotomy in patients with perforating pyloroduodenal ulcers by the chemical denervation method. The diffusion method was applied, which includes the study of the proteolys of the top parts of a digestive tract by the Gorshkovs’ method (Gorshkov V.A., 1988). The results of treatment of 88 (the control group) and 82 (the basic group) patients with perforating pyloroduodenal ulcers (PPDU) for the period 1990—2002 are presented. The patients were subjected to the combination of suture plication and selective proximal vagotomy (SPV) by the method of skeleting of small curvature of stomach and the method of the chemical denervation. The results of treatment in the nearest postoperative period and in the long terms up to five years are analyzed. The stable decrease of the acidic and proteolytical activity (APA) (proteolys (419,0 ± 23,2) g/m2 × 24–1, concentration of the hydrochloric acid (18,4 ± 2,4) mmol/l) of the stomach body in the both groups of patients was established, accompanied by the low percentage of relapse of a duodenal ulcer, which was uncertainly higher in the basic group (4,3 and 7,3% respectively). Simplicity and availability of the chemical denervation method and its efficiency allow it to be recommended for the wide application.

Abstract
The study of the fetoplacental complex and the morphological research of placenta of 50 pregnant women with hyperandrogenism were conducted by the ultrasonic method, dopplerometry and cardiotocography. It was shown that hyperandrogenism causes destructive and neonatal adaptation changes of placenta leading to its dysfunction. The high frequently of occurrence of complications in the gestational process at late diagnostics of hyperandrogenism (during pregnancy) was observed.

Abstract
The life quality of patients with lung cancer after the intraoperative irradiation with a dose 15 Gy during the surgery (loband pneumonoectomies) for the period of two years has been studied. The form developed by the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer EORTC QLQ-C 30 and the QLQ-LC 13 module were used. It is shown that the life quality of patients with lung cancer after combined therapy is determined mainly by the volume of surgery made, rather than by the adjuvant therapy conducted. Of great importance for patients was the period needed for the adaptation of the organism to new living conditions. In general, no significant differences in the main life quality indices were revealed among patients of both groups. Based on the results obtained, one can say that the addition of surgery with intraoperative radiotherapy with a total focal dose 15 Gy does not lead to the considerable worsening of life quality of patients and can be recommended for clinical application.

Abstract
The aim of the study was to evaluate the diagnostic role of a lipid index of macrophages in induced sputum as a marker of aspiration of acidic gastric contents. 17 patients with the diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and 10 healthy volunteers without any chronic digestive disorder were examined. In the group of patients with GERD, the maximal number of cells with positive reaction to lipids (31,70 ± 17,55) and maximal lipid index (45,06 ± 17,15), exceeding the control value five times, were found ( р < 0,05). The detection of lipid-laden alveolar macrophages in induced sputum can become a screenings method for diagnostics of gastroesophageal reflux. This requires the further investigations to clear up its causes.

Abstract
The study of the psychological status of 224 type 1 and 2 pancreatic diabetes (PD) patients has revealed the dominant types of the attitude to illness. In type 1 PD patients, regardless of the sex, the dominant type was ergopatic, which may lead tounsatisfactory results of treatment. However, the anosognosiс type of attitude was observed reliably more often in men with type PD than in women. In type 2 PD patients, the harmonic type dominated. At the same time, the disturbing type was observed in women, but not diagnosed in men with type 2 PD.
